Nowadays, in most work environments, people’s minds are full of various information due to constant interaction with computer technologies and mobile phones, etc., and on the other hand, many employees are also facing the problem of lack of mobility in the office.
In organizations that have suitable working spaces and favorable social environments, the physical and mental abilities of employees improve and their performance coefficient increases. Therefore, we have seen that in recent years in most countries, the design of different spaces effective in increasing the productivity and efficiency of employees has always been the focus of analysts and management consultants of various organizations and companies, and in the meantime, the need for experts in the field of architecture and decoration to familiarize themselves with psychological issues. and the physicality of employees in work environments and naturally their undeniable role in creating optimal spaces according to their type of activity has become much more pronounced.
In this regard, Zigoart considered this important as one of its social responsibilities and decided to design and hold another different competition in its second event in order to improve the cultural level of different sections of the society.
Consider the problem plan of a hypothetical startup company in the field of virtual businesses that provides its services to customers virtually through the site.
The main assumptions of the project:
The building owned and used by the group includes two floors of office units, each floor is a unit with an area of 200 square meters, and there are a number of parking spaces and storage space on the ground floor. The company is active around the clock (three shifts) during 7 days of the week and the working hours of the personnel are about 9 hours during the day and 44 hours in the whole week. The age range of the employees is about 17 to 30 years old, single or married without children, and the majority of them are in different organizational categories in the fields of advertising, marketing and sales, customer affairs, programming and support, and the rest in the fields of research and development, idea generation. , design and graphics, finance and accounting, etc. are active.
Since the positive effect of the freshness and well-being of the employees in the physical environment and the company building on improving their academic performance has been greatly noticed by the management, it has carried out a study in this direction and has come across interesting points and effective factors, some of which are They are as follows:
- Better planning and management of employees’ free time and rest
- The effective role of fun activities and more mobility in the work environment on employee performance
- Flexible working hours around the clock
- The role of flowers and plants on people’s vitality
- The effect of open spaces in the workplace on the morale of employees
After the necessary investigations due to the lack of space and the limitation of available spaces as well as the impossibility of changes in the interior spaces of the building, the management of the complex comes to the conclusion that it will use the roof space of the company building to achieve its goal as well as the visual identity of the work space. . Therefore, in order to determine and make the final decision regarding the required changes, he intends to take help from experts in the field of architecture and implement the most suitable proposed plan.
Other assumptions:
- Assume that the company building does not have a yard, terrace or open space.
- In the company building, there are meeting rooms, management, kitchen, dining room and sanitary facilities as usual.
- In terms of location, it is assumed that the company’s building is in one of the neighborhoods of areas 1 or 2 of Tehran.
- Consider the company’s building as new and completely healthy without any need for renovation.
- The roof of the company’s building is assumed to be completely without neighboring buildings.
- Consider the height of each floor of the company building to be about 3.4 meters (the floor to the ceiling of each floor is about 3 meters).
- Let’s assume that there are no restrictions on the use of the roof of the building in terms of legal regulations.
- Assume that any facilities needed for the design are available on the roof.
- Regarding the design of the roof shelter, the participant is completely free to choose all items, including height, type of material, etc.
- If the participant needs to obtain more detailed and accurate information about the type of activity and the site of the project plan or the interior design and facade of the building and any other related matters, he can assume these things according to his wishes.
*Note: In addition to the mentioned items that affect the performance of employees from the point of view of management, the participant can include other relevant effective factors from his point of view in the design and explain these items along with any necessary explanations regarding his plan.*

- The design area is rectangular with an area of 240 square meters, of which about 40 square meters are dedicated to the staircase, elevator and entrance, and will be available to the participants from the start date of the competition.
- After registration, participants can download the relevant file from the competition website from the start date of the competition.
- It is not allowed to make changes in the scope of the competition design
- Compliance with the principles of architecture and the human scale of the project is mandatory.
- During the contest, participants can be informed of any related announcements, including frequently asked questions, only through the website.
- Refrain from including any names and logos etc. on the submitted works, otherwise the work submitted for judging will not be accepted. It should be noted that at the end and after the announcement of the final results, all eligible submitted works along with the details of the participant (the creator of the work) will be exposed to the public.
- Works submitted after the deadline will not be ranked
- Proof of authenticity and all responsibilities of intellectual and legal property of submitted works and images are the responsibility of the participant.

How to judge designs
- All designs registered by the participants on the competition site are reviewed in terms of compliance with competition rules, format and sufficiency of documents and other related matters.
- The jury will evaluate the designs based on the relevant criteria and select a maximum of 30 designs from among the received designs for special introduction to the public and determine the people’s chosen design through public votes.
- The jury will choose the best 7 designs from their 30 selected designs and then select the first to third winners.
